2/15/24 - Happy Birthday, Seattle Slew

Fifty years ago, on February 15, 1974, at 7 p.m., you foaled at Ben Castleman's White Horse Acre's Farm (now Cobra Farm). Christine and Paul Mallory and a black lab named Trouble were there to greet you.

You were the first foal out of My Charmer. Seth Hancock of Claiborne Farm had suggested the mating of My Charmer & Bold Reasoning.

You were destined for greatness.

You were the first undefeated Triple Crown winner.

You won the Marlboro Cup over Triple Crown winner Affirmed.

You were independent from the start and had such heart and courage.

You left such an enormous legacy to the racing world and the Thoroughbred industry.

We thank all who helped you throughout your 28 years. And we continue to appreciate and thank them today.

You gave us memories and unconditional love.

You are missed. And you are loved.

We thank God for you, Seattle Slew.

Happy Birthday and God Bless You.

Love,

Karen & Mickey
