It was June 11 in 1977, and Slew, destiny was waiting for you.

You were late to the paddock, but you did your war dance. And you showed how much you loved Belmont Park by becoming the first undefeated Triple Crown winner.

We remember every moment and we were so proud of you. You showed your Belmont fans how special you were. You fulfilled your destiny and went on to have such an impact on the Thoroughbred world.

We are pulling for your seven progeny in the Belmont Stakes (at Saratoga this year).
